A joint venture of Sonopant Dandekar College, Tata Sociology Institute, Mumbai, Lupin group, Tarapur and Chennai Foundation, started the bachelor of Vocational Degree Course in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Sonopant Dandekar College. The inauguration ceremony of the syllabus was organized in the college.
Mr.Vijay Kothiwal, Vice President of Lupin Human Welfare Research Foundation, expressed the desire that Sonopant Dandekar College will create an expert and skilled manpower in future.
The course duration is of three years, and for five days a week, students will have to appear for demonstrations and theory lectures in Lupin. Students completing this course will get scholarships ranging from seven to nine thousand rupees. After completing the course, the students will get the opportunity to work with Lupin and any other drug manufacturing company, observed the program Chief guest Mr. Kothivale.
Mr.Ishwar Murthy, Director of Skill Foundation, Chennai, who was present at the program, observed that there are opportunities available for business, but it is a curriculum that produces manpower. Therefore, the curriculum is useful for the students of this area and their employment generation will be helpful.

Mrs. Manaktai Patil (Trustee), Mr.Chandrakant Dandekar (Vice President), Mr.Hitendra Shah (Treasurer), Prof. Ashok Thakur, Mr.Atul Dandekar (Secretaries) and other dignitaries along with Mr.Bhupesh Gharat(Manager) and Mr.Mahesh Kate(Manager) of Lupin were also present.
Dr. Kiran Save (Principal) conducted the introductory session. Dr. Shirish Pitale (HOD, Chemistry) and Course Coordinator Dr. Dilip Yadav organized the inaugural function. The Program was attended by teaching faculties and students enrolled for the course.
